Safe Harbour, Presence, Vigilant Care and Moments of Love in the work with babies and toddlers
Abstract
The first weeks of life and early childhood are decisive for a good development of children. This is challenging for parents and caregivers. It needs a special kind of presence and vigilant care to create a safe harbour and to give the necessary moments of love, so children can develop a basic sense of trust to be able to create a life full of autonomy and diligence. The workshop shows how to use Non Violent Resistance-tools to fulfill this task.
The workshop first introduces the theoretical background how to adapt NVR-tools when taking care of babies and toddlers. Then cases and experiences will be presented, followed by step by step practical exercises to get acquainted with the tools. We will make use of exercises in small groups.
